Side by side with a diminishing birth-rate we see an immense increase in the number of books on infant feeding and the diseases of children, till one may imagine that eventually the output of the latter may equal or exceed that of the former. Meanwhile, we may observe that in general the teaching inculcated in the numerous volumes on infant feeding, though excellent, is apt to be monotonous.
